3 day break in Kniveton with pet Weimariner

Just arrived back from renting a cottage in Kniveton. Booked a table in advance with Bridget the landlady as we needed a dog friendly pub. And what a welcome we received - fire was lit and table laid up for us. Very diverse menu. We both had a seafood starter and steaks to follow. Finished with treacle tart with custard. Service was excellent and very friendly clientele. Food was superb. We were so impressed we went back for Sunday lunch which was again excellent. Roast beef with Yorkshire puds, roast and boiled potatoes, creamed leeks, carrots, broccoli - you should have seen the size of the plates! The chef came out from behind the stove to enquire how we were enjoying our mea - now that's service. We will be back. Thank you for looking after us.

    Excellent Food

       

    We attended a party at this pub recently and food was really good. They served a really good selection of well prepared hot dishes to suit every taste and then followed it up with some equally good puddings. We would definitely go back.

    Good Food at the Red Lion in Kniveton

       

    We went to this pub on Friday night, we hadn't been before and hadn't booked. The pub was busy but they were able to offer us a table, without any problem. We both ordered steaks, but we could easily have chosen something different as there was a good choice on the menu. The steaks were cooked to perfection and came with wonderful homemade chips and onion rings. We will certainly be going there again!
