Gift Shops
We are so lucky in Ashbourne to have several good gift shops and browsing round any of these will give you lots of ideas for special gifts, check out: Vintage Bluebird; Bennetts; Acorn Country Crafts and Past to Present.
Books
Why not order your mum the latest novel by her favourite author from the Ashbourne Bookshop. Alternatively, there are good second-hand books for sale at the Oxfam Bookshop.
Jewellery
Lots of choices in Ashbourne if you're looking for a special piece jewellery then take a look in C W Sellors; Avanti; Optimum or Silvarious
Accessories – handbags, scarves, costume jewellery
These are often favourite gifts for mums and there is certainly some excellent choice in Ashbourne. Chic is a wonderful place for accessories, but also take a look in Wigley's; Pure Inspiration; Banjo; The Olive Tree (lovely bags) and Sacs. If you would like a fair trade ethically produced gift then do look in Pachacuti.
Pamper Gifts
If you would like to get your mum a gift voucher so she can have a beauty treatment then checkout the following: The Lounge Hair & Beauty; Brackendale Spa; Sally Montague or the Ashbourne Nail Bar, to name but a few. Many of the hairdressers around Ashbourne also have beauty salons as well so it's worth checking with your hairdresser.
Lunch or a Meal out
If you're looking for somewhere to go then do take a look at the list of restaurants we suggested in our Valentine's Day article. If you are looking for somewhere else how about trying the Shire Horse at Wyaston, The Okeover Arms at Mappleton or the The Shoulder of Mutton at Osmaston.
Something Different
If you're looking for something unusual how about a visit to Wild Park Leisure for quad biking or paint balling; a creative craft session at Sticky Fingers in Ashbourne or would your mum like to try Clay Pigeon Shooting? There is a special event on the 7 April for ladies which includes afternoon tea.
